About this site

There hasn't been an actual website on ant.org for about 20 years. Back then it involved a vast amount of complicated messing about in Drupal or equivalent, and nearly always required one to write PHP, a language that is... difficult to love.

Then we had the social media era: posting to Facebook was significantly easier than running your own CMS.

Now social media has faded of course, and nobody wants to be seen dead on Meta. Personal blogs have had something of a renaissance. Modern Drupal replacements like Ghost mean that PHP is a half-remembered fever-dream, and shiny new LLM technology means that all the deployment and management headaches are a mere trifle.

I didn't keep any of the old content, of course. Nobody wants to hear about 90s pinball games or console frame buffers for obsolete graphics cards. Instead, there are new niche topics to explore! Enjoy!
